I'm not the best person to comment on the subject as I don't know all that many YouTubers (And don't follow any all that closely), BUT some of them already have animated shorts. Like Markiplier, Toby and Dan and Phil (were included in some weird baby animation thing I did not get at all, lol). While I agree that it's a bit different when these things are official, I can also see where people might feel more comfortable doing fanworks of this type for people who seem okay with it. (Or have some experience with it themselves.)

I imagine some of them are probably cringeworthy (I've seen... One, I think, and it was absolutely hilarious and awful and I didn't make it over about 40 seconds in), but at the same time this is just another subset of fandom. Not saying that's good or bad, but if the people involved are okay with fanart or fic or whatever, they probably don't mind this either.

If we've learned anything from creepypasta fandom, it's that nothing, absolutely nothing, is outside the realm of personal yaoi puppets.

If we've learned a second thing from it, it's that 12-year-old girls are fucking terrifying and basically just waiting for an excuse to murder someone.

Except there was nothing shippy or creepy about this video, and Arin himself hired and paid the animator. He's obviously not bothered by it.

This is what I think whenever people complain about people turning x character/person into a dumb animu bishie!!1 How dare the artist draw a character/person they like in their style!
