I feel kind of offended about this.
I mean, it's not like I expected them to actually make a next gen remake of that game (compared to others of the franchise, it's just not popular enough) but the game definitely didn't deserve a half assed... whatever that is.

It's so weird that you say 6 isn't popular enough because as I recall it was probably the most popular entry in the series prior to 7.

It was (though IV was pretty popular as well, I think.) but compared to everything post-VII, it's not that we'll known. And almost obscure compared to VII.

Part of that may be generational. Most SNES owners eventually graduated to the Playstation, but for a lot of people the Playstation was their first console. Square's attempts at bringing FF6 to the Playstation was an unmitigated disaster, too.

I was in that boat! It took my brother's and I's combined efforts to finally get our first gaming console, and by that time it was the PS and FFVII that was available.

Good thing you got a Playstation instead of an N64 or god forbid a Saturn! ;) I think the Playstation, above the other two, has held up quite well.

It's particularly galling given that the DS remake of IV actually looked decent--a little blocky, but not bad for a 3D reinterpretation of a 2D game. The VI remake looks like it was done in RPG Maker.

I'm really surprised they haven't at least made a DS style remake of 6. I loved 3, & 4 for the DS. I'd really love to see 6 other games that came before it get something like that too.
