Movie Night Food

(Anonymous) 2015-06-20 08:52 pm (UTC)(link)
So it's movie night with the family tonight, and I'm making my specialty chicken nachos! (Not bragging (totally am) but they BEG for the stuff!)

What's your favorite snack food (or any food) to go along with a night in watching movies?

Good ol' fashioned CDM and some CDM varieties. The quieter the better.

AYRT

Um... what is CDM? I'm completely lost and it's probably something obvious that will make me feel totally dumb. :P But totally curious now.

Sorry lad. It stands for Cadbury's Dairy Milk. Basically chocolate.

Oh okay yeah that sounds delicious. I'm always up for chocolate and Cadbury's has some of the BEST chocolate! :)

Not-snack: pizzaaaaaaaaaa. Pizza is the proper food for movie watching.

Snack food: Nachos are definitely good. A bit of popcorn can be nice and maybe some cookies halfway through or so.

Bonus edition: cherry slurpee and a box of Buncha Crunch. this is what I get whenever I go see a movie at a megaplex-type think.

Mmm pizza definitely works too :)

When I actually go to the movies I usually just get a large soda that I share with whoever I'm there with (my husband or sister or whoever) and some twizzlers or chocolate covered gummy bears :P

AYRT

Also Nibs. They totally taste different when you buy them at the concession, vs. off the shelf at the grocery.

Popcorn! Fries! Chicken wings! Slices of Uncooked turkey bacon! Cheese and crackers! Pizzaaaaa!

If I'm not being lazy and a porker though, I'll actually slice up sticks of cucumber and celery.

What about popcorn chicken. Also I would kill some chicken wings right now. Also

If I'm not being lazy and a porker though, I'll actually slice up sticks of cucumber and celery.

This is verboten, it's a betrayal of the spirit of movies IMO

I'd prefer crispy boneless wings then. With curly fries on the side.

But but but they are crunchy and keep me hydrated so I don't have to reach over twice as much to get a drink. I'm sorry for my lack of diligence, movie night spirit. I'll take whatever curse comes my way :(

just regular old plain popcorn with juuuust a little bit of salt sprinkled on top (I'm from northern Europe, my popcorn doesn't even have enough butter in it, so the popcorn is white instead of yellow-ish)

sour candy is a must

as for quenching my thirst... I'll take carbonated water (with LOTS of bubbles so it almost hurts) or beer

I usually make pizza. What kind of pizza depends on what kind of mood I'm in.

Sometimes a bottle of wine to go with. Rarely, popcorn or chips or something.

Other times, just a cup of tea. We aren't really huge snackers during movies or gaming.
