Thinking about the "designated cripple fight" reminded me about the "Designated girl fight", where the woman who had suplexed a tank got in to a slapfight with the badguy airhead.

Ugh. This game needs to change badly.

I think everything is reaching except for the stupid slap-fight. that one was actually idiotic and could be discarded, esp because tifa's more of a bruiser type

Agreed.

I mean, the game isn't perfect: like all FFs it loves its fantasy counterpart cultures like Red XIII's hometown and the like, Barret in the localization was literally Mr. T, and so on, but it's hardly some kind of symbol for oppression.
