Sorry to hear about that. :( I know there are many ways to develop that, and I hope you are able to find a way to reverse the process. Metformin is a pretty good drug, but those GI issues are a bitch for a lot of people.

Is reversing really possible? I was under the impression that once you had it, it never really went away, and at best I could hope for being able to deal with spikes via diet and exercise. But that much fewer carbs than I used to eat would forever take my blood sugar much higher than it used to go before I had diabetes.

Sometimes it does go away.

Gluten-free diets seem to be specially effective, from pure anecdata, so don't take my word for it.

Reversing it is really possible. In fact, it is one of the only diseases known that is fully reversible without surgical or medical intervention of any sort.

Weight loss (and muscle gain) are generally all it takes to reverse diabetes 100%, if it has not been induced by medication or other medical conditions.
