Well, single mothers do have to play the role of mother and father.

No they don't.

(Anonymous) 2015-06-21 08:46 pm (UTC)(link)
Yes! They don't!

(Anonymous) 2015-06-21 08:41 pm (UTC)(link)
how can they when they're not a dad

(Anonymous) 2015-06-21 08:43 pm (UTC)(link)
Single mothers have to play both parts.

(Anonymous) 2015-06-21 08:43 pm (UTC)(link)
They have to take on some of the load that a father might otherwise bear. But that doesn't mean that they should be considered fathers. They're not; they're mothers.

(Anonymous) 2015-06-21 08:45 pm (UTC)(link)
My point is that they are more than mothers

(Anonymous) 2015-06-21 08:45 pm (UTC)(link)
No, they're not. They're mothers who have to do more than other mothers.

(Anonymous) 2015-06-21 08:49 pm (UTC)(link)
No. They are a parent. Mother/Father just signifies gender.

We should just create a Parent's Day because that is one less holiday, but we didn't. So we have Mother's Day which includes Single Mothers and Father's Day which includes Single Fathers.

(Anonymous) 2015-06-21 08:50 pm (UTC)(link)
Fuck that shit, we need more holidays, not less.

(Anonymous) 2015-06-21 09:52 pm (UTC)(link)
Let's have a non-parent appreciation day where everyone agrees to STFU about "So when are you having kids?"

(Anonymous) 2015-06-21 08:45 pm (UTC)(link)
are you saying that if family has two parents who are both women, someone has to be "the dad"?

(Anonymous) 2015-06-21 08:42 pm (UTC)(link)
Should single fathers be celebrated on mother's day?

(Anonymous) 2015-06-21 08:44 pm (UTC)(link)
Only the good ones.

(Anonymous) 2015-06-21 08:45 pm (UTC)(link)
Should we have a test?

Should we do that for Mother's, too? What body should decide whether or not a mother gets to be celebrated?

(Anonymous) 2015-06-21 08:50 pm (UTC)(link)
The test is if the child wants to honour the parent in that way. but I don't appreciate you detailing this thread with a "Think of the poor menz" argument. I thought you people had gotten over this particular brand of shit.

(Anonymous) 2015-06-21 08:51 pm (UTC)(link)
So if it's all up to the child about when they want to honor their parent, then what the fuck is the point of the original question in the OP at all

(Anonymous) 2015-06-21 08:52 pm (UTC)(link)
Dude, if it just what the child want's to celebrate their parent, they can do it on whatever the fuck day they want. Celebrate their parent on September 2nd! Who the fuck cares?

(Anonymous) 2015-06-21 09:01 pm (UTC)(link)
Yes, but they don't make Mothersday cards on fathersday. I think they should.

(Anonymous) 2015-06-21 09:18 pm (UTC)(link)
Just buy a fucking Mother's Day card the month before. Or buy one online.
