I mean, I can understand having a preference or enjoying JW over MMFR, but to say JW had better characters is my mind boggling to me. Max is supposed to be a nonentity in MM (has been since the first movie), but Nux and Furiosa had more character than everyone in JW combined. The most interesting character in JW was probably Blue - and she was a goddamn raptor. Not hating, but World was really lacking, especially when compared to Jurassic Park (which could be objectively argued to be better than Fury Road, but that's another topic.)

I have to agree. I loved JW because... I love ALL the Jurassic Park movies. I love the universe, I love how NO ONE SEEMS TO LEARN AT ALL EVER. But while I certainly enjoyed enough of what little we saw of the characters, there didn't seem to be any sort of attempt at developing them in any way beyond "look brothers learning to get along!" and "look we really do make a good couple!".

I liked Dr. Wu the best probably because a) BD Wong and b) O HAI DR. WU!

Though I did really like the tie ins to the original (the music, Wu's comment about the dinosaurs looking different if they were accurate [keeping film continuity while acknowledging the advancements we've made in what dinosaurs most likely really looked like], the fact that the jeep the boys took was #29 which was the Jeep they drove in on in the original film, etc).

The only thing I didn't like (and this is just me being overly sensitive) was Claire's sister correcting her 'if I have kids' to 'when', like it's a done deal and everyone has/wants kids.

Nayrt

I haven't seen JW yet, but I think my reasons for wanting to see it are basically

1) raptors, and

2) B. D. Wong.

I went in for BD Wong and just to see how they were going to fuck up enough to get people eaten (AGAIN WTF). XD

You're reasons are the right ones, specially the first one since they're just great.

BD Wong was in JW?? He is so awesome.

I love seeing people slurped up by dinosaurs because - omg, how stupid are you? But i doubt i'll go to the theatre to see this. I'd rather go see MM again.
:)

Yep he reprised his role as Dr. Wu from the original movie--though it's obvious he's a little more in charge in JW. And he still looks goooooood. Not as adorably baby-faced as JP.

Eh, I guess kind of? It didn't ruin the movie for me or anything, I just sort of made a bit of a sour face when she said that. Is it butthurtism to just not like a particular line in a movie? Maybe? Who knows.
