My response to that is to point out that I was once a member of fanficrants while also being an anti-gay creationist. It's not that hard to avoid confrontation on these things if you're committed to focusing on everything else that has nothing to do with them. Sure there are times when most of fs is showing that they're against MRAs but there are also plenty of threads where sexism doesn't come up at all.

Huh, really?

I was on FFR for a while when I was still kinda conservative (though not an anti-gay creationist, at that point) and I accidentally said a dumb thing once and got completely and utterly dogpiled. I'm impressed you were able to avoid confrontation tbh.

But fair point about all the rest of that. I guess you can just choose what you wish to talk about.

(I'm still a bit puzzled about what in this corner of fandom would appeal to MRAs since in some ways it's very female-dominated and female-focused. But maybe I'm stereotyping, and just assuming all MRAs are shallow frat boys or something. :/ )

Well I'm not saying there are definitely MRAs around here. I just think people are too complex to be able to say "A person who thinks x, y, and z would also think p and q so they would be really obvious". It wouldn't surprise me if some of the people who complain about SJWs were sympathetic to MRA talking points even if they're not the type to demonize all women.

Fair enough. Though I wouldn't necessarily call someone an MRA unless they actually claimed the label.

Even within that there's nuance depending on how you define "MRA talking points" because not everything they say is untrue or disagreeable.
