Re: Things You Don't Normally Admit To

My upbringing was so sheltered and so full of forced gender norms that I've reacted against it by trying to be as un-feminine as possible. So when I do like something that is feminine, I feel too embarrassed to admit it.

Every once in a while, I want to watch something sappy and romantic, but I'd never admit that.

Also, while mostly I find romantic stuff cheesy, I do get teary at proposals in film and on tv. I still don't think I want to actually be proposed to or get a ring or anything, but part of me still reacts to proposal scenes.

I feel the same way about proposal scenes, even though I find most expected romance tropes and beats really cheesy and eye-rolling. IDK why proposals are different for me.
