Things You Don't Normally Admit To

What are some things that you do in secret but deny to others (it doesn't have to be anything major. If you have an undying secret love for Nickelback, feel free to discuss it)?

My upbringing was so sheltered and so full of forced gender norms that I've reacted against it by trying to be as un-feminine as possible. So when I do like something that is feminine, I feel too embarrassed to admit it.

Every once in a while, I want to watch something sappy and romantic, but I'd never admit that.

Also, while mostly I find romantic stuff cheesy, I do get teary at proposals in film and on tv. I still don't think I want to actually be proposed to or get a ring or anything, but part of me still reacts to proposal scenes.

I pretend to be above things like toilet humor, but I find it funny as fuck tbh and I routinely crack the hell up when I read stories like these:

I love chick flicks like Maid in Manhattan. I know it's pandering. I know it has the stereotype of Latina maids.

Don't care. Ralph Fiennes is delicious in that movie. OMG.

I think Youtube Poops are hilarious.

I have such a lowbrow sense of humor. I almost peed myself laughing at Half-Life Full Life Consequences on youtube.

I enjoy lifetime movies. When anyone asks me about it, I say that I watch them to make fun of them (and this isn't entirely untrue) but I've recently accepted the truth: I just really like lifetime movies. They're very satisfying

I criticize Stony but I read and enjoy some of the fic.

I DON'T KNOW WHY I DO THIS.

I think part of my problem is that I find ZERO basis for them in canon, most of the fic is awful to me (with Woobie!Abused! Tony and MORAL SUPPORT STEVE out the wazoo) but because it's such a big pairing, there IS a lot of genuinely good fic that I enjoy. That and I find their personalities are interesting enough that in the hands of a good author it CAN be done well.

But I'm SUCH a hypocrite.

I torrent movies and such.

As a matter of fact, I am debating whether or not to leaked the bluray quality Mad Max: Fury Road right now.

I justify it by the fact that I buy physical copies of most of the movies I torrent.

I join people and agree whenever they criticize underage fic and call it repulsive, but I tend to find underage fic pretty hot (and doujinshi. Might as well own up to everything I guess). I'm genuinely ashamed of this, but I'm not really ashamed enough to stop reading

I would say toilet humor, but actually I don't mind admitting this.

What I don't admit to often is LOVING Very Special Episodes of old TV shows, especially teen dramas where OMG it's a srs bsns huge fucking deal with racism/drugs/alcoholism/domestic violence/etc!!!!!! I cannot overstate how much I love those episodes.

I use most of a container of something and then put it back in the fridge with just a tiny bit left (at home, not at work).

I don't mean to do it, but when I want to put milk in my tea and it works out to just a little bit left, I just stick it back in and assume someone else will want milk in their tea, okay?

I'm a monster.

I like playing dress up dolls online. You know, things like the Sailor Senshi Maker (http://www.dolldivine.com/sailor-senshi-maker.php) and such like. I'm nearly thirty, but there's just something very satisfying to me about matching colours and things to make pretty costumes.

I don't usually admit to people that I really like a lot of the BuzzFeed videos. I hate that site, and the writers and video personalities drive me up the wall, but oh dear lord I enjoy the entire shit out of "Try Guys" and "____ Eats ____ For the First Time" and other bs series and shorts.

Also, I give a ton of fucks about skincare and trying to make sure my face looks great. I honestly don't have a complex routine, but it's so minimal for the reason that I am trying to maintain perfection and not screwing with what works. In person, when I get compliments, I usually shrug off and say, "Well, yeah. I'm naturally flawless."

Yeah, saying it here makes me feel dippy, let alone out loud.

I'll admit it online, but no one IRL knows I watch Girl Meets World.

I really only do for Cory, Topanga and Shawn though. But Maya also reminds me a lot of a friend I had when I was Riley's age (and I was absolutely the Riley to her Maya).

I sometimes call things (beliefs ideas, concepts, mostly) retarded. But I draw a huge distinction between that and "retard," which I would never use as a noun.

I'm trying to cut down on this, but I sometimes look for signs for good/bad luck in things like the types of birds near the lake at my workplace or what I get in my daily rewards on Bewjewled Blitz. *headdesk*

My parents are /fantastically/ wealthy. Such that, if I wanted to and they chose to facilitate it, I could likely live more or less on their money pretty comfortably for the rest of my life. There's virtually nothing I want or need on a day to day basis (clothing, food, minor travel, etc.) they couldn't afford without even blinking an eye.

I avoid bringing this up because I don't want people to think I'm spoiled, and more importantly, it's really hard to talk about such things without sounding like you're bragging. "Oh, man, the FAFSA is a pain." "I wouldn't know, my parents paid for my education in full." Like, ok, fuck you. :P
