I torrent movies and such.

As a matter of fact, I am debating whether or not to leaked the bluray quality Mad Max: Fury Road right now.

I justify it by the fact that I buy physical copies of most of the movies I torrent.

I torrent movies also, but I admit it. If I don't think it's worth seeing in the theatre (or it has already left the theatre by the time I remember I want to watch it) then I'm not going to try to rent it.

a) Netflix sucks ass in Canada and b) I go to the movies to support things I feel deserve it, so it's not like I'm actively destroying the film industry.

Yeah, I've seen MM:FR twice in theaters. And I have it pre-ordered. Soooo, not feeling too bad about wanting to DL it. Though, I am always worried about being caught.

That is mostly how I feel about it. For the things I wasn't going to see in theatres and end up downloading... well... I was never going to give my money to that film in the first place.

I've never once decided to download a film that I was really excited about seeing instead of seeing it in theatres, so it's basically moot.

Be careful if you're Australian! Dunno how the new anti piracy rules work yet but I'd err on the side of caution

I've done it before too, mostly with things I already own. (Or plan to own in the future.)

Like, I downloaded the last Hobbit film after watching it in theaters because I needed to see the Bilbo/Thorin scenes again. I'm going to buy the film when the extended edition is released though so I don't feel too bad about it.

And most the time when I buy a blu-ray it comes with a downloadable copy anyway, but for iTunes which I don't use. So if I really want a digital copy, I'll just torrent it.

Should probably stop that, but digital copies are nice for screencapping...
