It's officially in it's 'anime vs manga' phase. Don't like it? Read one of the books, ya purist!

lol, are you implying that book fans are the only ones who have issues with the show?

I can say with certainly I haven't seen anyone who exclusively watches the show complain about the direction of the story or it's characters. It's the book readers that are acting all entitled. Outside of being upset their favorite character dies and being shocked about certain events, they aren't the ones wanting new writers.

I keep hearing book readers hoping that the show will fail and try say that people who only watch the show are also upset, but seeing as how the show is still a success and people are still hyped for the next season then the book readers are the only one who feel entitled.

I read the books and there are some things I like better in the books but also a lot of things I like better in the show. You can enjoy them separately and one doesn't take away from the other. So people need to just chill out.

I've seen even show watchers point out how nonsensical and shitty the writing has gotten since season 5 rolled around, the Sand Snakes ("you want the bad pussy" jfc), the treatment of Sansa, and bipolar characterization of Stannis being the biggest sources of criticism. This whole "success = good writing, good product, etc." argument is dumb as balls. By that logic, TBBT/Two and a Half Men are quality shows that can't be criticized because they're popular. It couldn't possibly have anything to do with them pandering to the bottom feeders like GOT does with its constant focus on awkwardly shoehorned sex scenes/edgy shock scenes in place of actual character development.

lol, the poor bastards don't know of any better.
