I didn't mind Joy, since Sadness was kind of an idiot just as much. "Something weird keeps happening to every memory I touch and we don't know yet if it's good or bad. Oh well, I'll just keep on putting my mitts on everything I can reach."

Presenting Riley's distress was also as subtle as a brick to the face. The main building blocks of her personality crumble, when she faces her first real crisis? A bit much.

See I read Sadness' actions as her instincts because they were what she was supposed to do. Joy was stopping her from doing her job. So when she thought about it she could stop, but when she stopped thinking her instincts would take over.

Yes, it wasn't very subtle, but I still enjoyed those parts.
