Gears of War. Not because they're horrible (maybe they are, I don't pay enough attention to them to know) but because there's an alarming lack of slash.

Uh...serious answer, Thor. (Mostly because people care way more about Loki than they do about Thor, and as someone who adores Thor I find that massively disappointing. Preferring Loki is fine, but it isn't the fandom I'd hoped for and I'm not super interested in it.)

So agreed on Thor. I want to fangirl about those movies so much, but everything in the fandom is about Loki. So I mostly stick to the Cap sides of fandom because there at least my tastes are the same as a lot of peoples.

Yea, Cap fandom is the MCU fandom for me. (As well as Daredevil.)

I walked out of Thor with all the Thor love and while I wanted a healthy side of Thor/Loki, what transpired was not to my tastes, lol.

But that happens. *shrugs*

I want Thor paired with everyone but Loki. There is sadly very little Thor/Sif, Thor/Cap, or Thor/anyone else in the fandom. I came out of Thor with all the Thor love too. He's pretty much my ideal man. I'm sad he doesn't get more love because he's such a great character.

I know, and that has to suck even worse for you. At least for me I've read...idk, maybe ten fics I liked (out of the...god knows how many that are available for the pairing), and there's a bunch more...they just don't suit my taste. When you hate the pairing altogether that does make this fandom unbearable.

Thor/Cap is the one I wish was more popular. I mainly ship Thor with his brother and Steve with Bucky, but if Steve has to be with anyone else I would want it to be Thor. Very few people seem to agree with us on this.

I hung on in the Thor (okay, Thorki, specifically) for one very prolific author who loved Thor. Loved him and showed it, boy did they ever, and in retrospect I can now admit that some of those stories were really cheesy but whatever. Those fics were the only things I liked in that fandom.

Oh man, I'm pretty sure you've left a similar comment to one of my posts before. I want to know who this author is so bad...

I've probably read 12 fics in this fandom I genuinely enjoyed. Even that might be pushing it...

Well I'm not surprised that I've warbled about this before, but I am surprised that I failed to properly plug this author! Allow me to amend that: it's themantlingdark on AO3. Now various caveats do apply including the one I already mentioned about how the writing can get... overwrought, and their AUs also tend to have Thor and Loki being blood siblings if that matters in any way.

But the Thor love is real! Recently I found myself wondering if I'd imagined it somehow (Thorki fandom is awful, isn't it?) so I went back and read one of the author's Stucky fics (my new jam!)... and you know the love is real when Thor gets to play a major role in another juggernaut ship's fic, and is wonderful in it, and Loki isn't in it at all. It's not like Thor's the first supporting character you'd think of when it comes to Stucky, y'know?

Nah, I don't so much mind the blood siblings thing as I've shipped siblings in other fandoms before. I acknowledge the overwrought thing but at this point I am pretty desperate and think I can handle it. I'm super pleased you got back to me about this, anon. Thank you so much! <3

(And Steve/Bucky is my other fav MCU fandom so to hear that the author has included Thor in one of their Steve/Bucky fics instead of Nat or Sam is incredible. Not that I don't love Nat and Sam, but rarely do people have Steve and Bucky and Thor interact and it saddens me. I'm excited now, lol.)

I get you on the Thor side of things, I've thankfully found people to follow who post an equal amount of Thor and Loki, and in one case mostly just Thor, so I've got a nice amount of him on my dash. But yeah, I stay out of the larger Thor fandom because it's so skewed to Loki and I want both.

That icon is so beautiful...unf.

But yea, I feel you. And I honestly think I would like Loki even more if fandom wasn't so saturated with him. (Which makes me feel guilty because I know I've loved the most popular character before, and he's definitely played wonderfully by Tom, so I can't blame people for liking what they like. It's just...kind of a bummer when no one gives a shit about Thor by himself.)
