Do you need to relate to characters to like them? There are lots of characters that I don't relate to at all but still like because I find them interesting.

Although, actually, I'd say if anything I relate more to Steve's niceness and his ptsd than I do to say Tony or Thor or Natasha.

I don't have to, but the ones I listed I'd like to but I can't because they're too good at everything with "flaws" that are excused away by their canons

I would bet I'd like them as people. Just not as characters for the above reason

Yeah, I don't know why people say that about Steve, he's easily the most relatable character to me in the Avengers. Having very few loved ones and losing them early, that one hits me pretty hard.

Steve's a guy who always wants to do the right thing. Sure, a lot of us do, but the problem is that Steve has been put in a position where he has to back it up. He can't just live with the world being fucked up like the rest of us do, he has to get up every day and deal with the world as HIS PROBLEM.

Same. I find him to be a breath of fresh air. I'm actually tired of all these grimdark "heroes" we get all the time. Someone who tries to be a good persona is much more interesting.
