Inspired by the Spider-man Thread

What versions of a character is your favorite? Or what version is the definitive version to you?

(Example: Guy Gardner is your favorite GL, but Stewart from the cartoon is what you think of first.)

I'm kind of in love with Groot-Thor and Throg right now tbh, but that's solely because of how wild Thors #1 was. I genuinely really liked the last run of Thor, too.

GL: Guy Gardner is my favorite Green Lantern!! He is the damnn best. But Kyle Rayner is actually what I think of when it comes to the definitive version because I started reading comics in the early 2000s.

Robin: Favorite and definitive is Tim. Dick will always be Nightwing to me, not Robin.

Trek Captain: Definitive Picard, favorite is Sisko or Janeway.

Those first two lines about GL and Robin? Spot on. Dick Grayson as Robin only really registers to me as an early-years story type thing.

It's a tie between Michael Caine and Sean Pertwee for Alfred Pennyworth.

I love the different aspects they brought to the character. Caine's father figure and Pertwee's old war dog trying to pass as posh.

I like both Black Captain America's, both female Captain Marvels, Mixed race Spiderman, FemThor, and Black Nick Fury.

Marvel has been knocking it out of the park latley

Kyle is my Green Lantern. Connor is my Green Arrow. Tim is my Robin. (Can you tell when I started reading comics?)

Wally is the Flash to me but I prefer Barry.

Another one...

Azzarello's take on Wonder Woman and her world is my favorite take in all of her history. I want a television/movie version of that. With all of Diana's Olympian family members just duking it out.

I was waiting for someone to top George Perez' run on Wonder Woman. Azzarello finally delivered.

Trek captain: Janeway is my favorite even though DS9 is my favorite Trek show

Suchet is my favorite Poirot. Of course.

Michael Keaton is my favorite Batman even though I do love the first and third Nolan movies.

Gsmbon is my favorite Dumbledore. Blasphemy I know, but Harris always seemed to week and quiet in the role to play the more powerful side of Dumbledore.

Mads is my favorite Hannibal even though I do love Silence and Red Dragon.

Mark Hamill is my favorite Joker.

Lyta is my favorite Babylon 5 telepath even if I do love Susan/Talia.

Eleven is my favorite Doctor with Twelve a close second.

LYTA FOREVER.

Links in Zelda games aren't the same character of course, but my favourite of them would be Wind Waker Link, while the definitive one for me is Link in OOT/MM. If you extend setting as character, OOT/MM Hyrule is also definitive for me, whereas ALTTP Hyrule is actually my favourite.

Green Lantern... Fave is definitely Guy, but Hal is the one that comes to mind first whenever the title is mentioned. Thanks, Geoff Johns (for serious actually).

Favourite Blue Beetle is Jaime Reyes, Ted Kord is the Blue Beetle.

Ooh can I do Optimus Primes for this too? Because the one in the G1 cartoon is my favourite because he can be such a camp dickbag. He's got these super dickery moments, and I love how silly that character is even among an already established group of weirdos on every side. But when I think of Optimus in general, it's always the grave robot father leader you don't want to disappoint, like in the Prime cartoon, or Bayverse!Prime to an extent. Since Prime was my entry to the series (Beast Wars was too long ago to really count imo, and pretty different), that's probably why my impression is skewed.

I see someone was thinking of me. ;) (Though when I think of the "main" Green Lantern I usually think of post-Rebirth Hal or 90s-era Kyle.)

DCAU Alfred Pennyworth was my first and is still my favourite Alfred. DCAU Jim Gordon was also pretty definitive for me, as was Hawkgirl and John Stewart as GL.

Brett!Holmes is my favourite onscreen Holmes and Hardwick is my favourite Watson. Ratigan, on the other hand, is the best Moriarty (though I did like Downey!verse Moriarty as well).

Book!Javert is the definitive Javert (obviously), but I like both Quast and Lewis for slightly different reasons, and all of them are head and shoulders above pretty much all film versions (though I reserve a particular hatred for Geoffrey Rush's version because that ending).

Peter Cushing is and always will be my favourite Van Helsing, though he is ... not exactly book canon. At all. Still. Closer than Hugh Jackman.

Charles Dance is the best onscreen Vetinari, by a mile.

Both Raoul Julia and Angelica Houston are the Addamses.

Charles Dance is totally the best Vetinari. But Christopher Lee was the best Death.

Best Sir Kay is Cei the Tall in Culhwch and Olwen, but the first Kay that comes to mind is from Disney's Sword in the Stone.

That is all.
