I can't say I understand the outrage over this. Disappointment, sure. Frustration, maybe.

But Peter Parker is the most recognizable version of Spiderman to the general public. Studios aren't making this movies just for comicbook fans. They are going to go with what is likely to hit the nostalgia button for the most people.

I feel the same way about female!Thor. Just because she's in the comics now means absolutely nothing for the movies.

Actually some groups are making some serious progress in that area. We might be rid of hemsworth sooner than the fanboys would hope
