(Anonymous) 2015-06-25 05:36 am (UTC)(link)Even without taking troll romance into account, troll reproduction is a strange and curious thing.

(Anonymous) 2015-06-25 05:52 pm (UTC)(link)I envy your ability to explain this briefly. Now, if someone could write an abridged explanation for troll romance...
... I guess I might be out of one internets.

(Anonymous) 2015-06-25 06:55 pm (UTC)(link)Well, here's a go at it:
Trolls consider more kinds of relationships 'romantic' than humans do. There's romantic love that's basically similar to what we have. There's a kind of mutual support relationship where two people cover each other's weaknesses and keep each other out of trouble. There's a 'romantic hate' where you loathe someone but also respect them and are drawn to them. And there's a kind of mediation where you try to stop two other people from having that romantic hate, because they'd be bad for each other or it would mess up an existing relationship.
Humans wouldn't really consider most of those 'romantic' as we understand it, but we can at least recognize the broad strokes of the relationships.
