[Poets of the Fall]

Image: A Youtube screencap of a lyric video for Poets of the Fall's song "Temple of Thought". The lyrics are "And it could be I'm understating/what it means that you're standing behind/every word you say to make my day/slowly dawning"

Secret text: I think this song (and this line in particular) sums up what love really is. I'd like to think that when I finally find someone I want to spend the rest of my life with, I'll be able to sing this to them and mean every word.

Secret because Poets of the Fall's lyrics generally sound good but actually make no sense if you stop and think about them. I probably shouldn't be investing this much meaning in them.

Full disclosure: my only exposure to Poets of the Fall was through Alan Wake, but I know what you mean about the lyrics feeling incredibly meaningful while objectively not making much sense. "War" is a beautiful song for that reason.

That's how I found them, too. I loved the "Children of the Elder God" fight scene in the game, so I went looking for the music, decided to check out the rest of the band's work, and wound up buying all their albums. Now I listen to their other work more than I listen to the Alan Wake stuff. Funny how things work out.

Mine was through Max Payne 2... which was written by the same guy who did Alan Wake...

Ah, it's like being a fan of The Fixx or of The Church then. Welcome to the club, bb.

I'm just amazed there's a Poets of the Fall secret at all.
