Re: Shows that went from amazing to horrible between two seasons

Teen Wolf. First drop in quality was visible after the second season, but the second, abysmal, drop was between the third and fourth season. The stinking heap of crap wasn't salvageable after that point.

Supernatural between the fifth and sixth season. They should have ended the show there.

Babylon 5. The fifth season was awful and it was obvious that they were just trying to prolong the show after the planned ending.

Grimm probably doesn't qualify. This season was horribad, but it had been getting worse at the end of the previous season.

What happened with Babylon 5 was that they originally had a 5 year arc planned out. Then they were given the impression that the show was going to be cancelled after season 4, so they rushed the end of the Shadow war. Then they were given season 5 and had to fill it out by expanding the telepath arc that was originally only supposed to be a couple of episodes.

Originally the plan was for the shadow war to be all of season 4 and then the Earth civil war to be season 5.

Yes, I think I've heard something like that before. It made the fifth season look like filler, since all the episodes felt so stretched. You can pretty much skip all of them, except the finale.
