Re: Favorite disabled characters?
(Anonymous) 2015-06-27 11:24 pm (UTC)(link)In terms of spymasters with missing eyes, I adore both Nick Fury from the MCU and Archangel from Airwolf. For spymasters/information specialists in general, add in Barbara Gordon as Oracle and Finch from Person of Interest. (I like spies and information specialists, okay?)
Eugenides from the Queen's Thief series, a thousand times. Most badass man in three kingdoms, on both physical and political playing fields, whether he currently has two hands or one. I madly adore him.
Also, in terms of one-handed kings, does Nuada Airgetlám count? Admittedly the silver prosthetic was magical and worked pretty much exactly like the real thing (and the later flesh-and-blood one by Miach, in the versions where Dian Cecht doesn't destroy it, even better again), but his maiming and subsequent gaining of his prosthesis were kind of important to the story. Plus, Nuada was just cool in general, and possibly the single most level-headed of the Tuatha de Danann in the entire mythological cycle.

(Anonymous) 2015-06-28 12:04 am (UTC)(link)I love how they incorporate his disability into the show at times, how it isn't just conveniently handwaved away or cured.
