An epic 600 page, carefully researched purple prosey SFF novel in a vaguely steampunk-y high fantasy setting vaguely inspired by ancient Mesopotamia. WITH GIANT ROBOTS.

as an religion + ancient history student, this sounds like everything i needed in college A+++

AYRT

I'm not very knowledgeable about ancient history (or history in general), but Mesopotamia has been a bit of a pet obsession of mine ever since I read The Epic of Gilgamesh as a teenager. It's a pity more fantasy novels don't use Near Eastern mythology as an influence. :(
