Personally I like it. Marvel has been doing great work for feminist representation as of late, and I'm really looking forward to seeing how they'll tackle this.

They'll throw out some cliches and maybe a few tired sexist gags, there'll be some stuff that was written for the Gilmore Girls but didn't make the cut there, and eventually (depending on how bored they get) they'll hit the rest button by either having her have a miscarriage or or having some supervillain killthe kid. We'll get a revenge-breakdown story and then she'll be back to normal and the kid will never be mentioned again. Well, not be mentioned for 20 years then it'll come back as a roid raging, pouch wearing, time displaced supervillain in its own right.

Re Spiderwoman: I'm waiting for the inevitable Spider-Loss

Is it bad that I just want a new female super hero, or more comics staring the existing ones?

This is probably why I used to read Aspen comics as a kid, lots of original female leads galore. They had a Witchblade tv show, but I'm still holding out for a movie for Soulfire, Fathom or Witchblade.

I hate this. I literally can't name a positive childfree female character in media who doesn't somehow always end up pregnant and then falling in love with the baby or agonizing over the adoption.

Buffy was never pregnant (keeping in mind that I've never read the comics/consider them canon)
