Yeah, I never understood this. Who gives a shit if Show X that you hate is still on the air? No one's forcing you to watch it, and its cancellation won't make it vanish from fandom. I have zero feelings about Hannibal and what little osmosis I've encountered has been pretty negative, but I was sorry to hear it got cancelled.

And don't give me the "now there's a free time slot" excuse. This isn't the damn 1990s.

(The exception, though, would be if I think a show is just going to keep getting worse and should be put out of its misery while people still enjoy it.)

The fuck do the 1990s have to do with negating the validity of "free time slot" as an argument?

something something netflix hulu other streaming services

Yeahhhh....it's not about not having access to what's airing. It's about there being a finite amount of time for networks to air things. Because let's face it, while straight-to-streaming series are becoming a thing, it's still reeaaaally young.

They're a thing. It is a thing that has been done.

Now you're being deliberately obtuse. But since you want it spelled out, "becoming a thing" is very common shorthand for things that are still in relative infancy and are far from being a standard norm.

If that makes you feel better, we'll roll with it.

Eh, I'd say they're maybe 1-2 years away form being a standard norm. Things are moving really, really fast in this area.
