It's a bit like my bafflement at Christopher Nolan's popularity where people will say "He's never made a bad film!" And if you look at his tomatometer, they're right -- the lowest is 56% for Man of Steel. Whereas I have a deep and abiding loathing of his films.
Individually, I get why people might like him. But the popular/media conception of both Pixar and Nolan as "great" moviemakers is what I don't get.
