Who are the craziest, most defensive, etc.?
I'm putting in a vote Spuhura shippers.

The TJLC shippers from that Sherlock wank a while back.

Yeah, gonna have to second this one. I've seen some batshit shippers before in my time, but they take the cake completely so far as complete and total nastiness goes.

I had to look up what TJLC was.

Not really. They just like crack pairs and didn't bombard JKR with death threats and the like to demand their pair be canon.

I'm going to go with J2 shippers on this one. There's actually only a relatively small portion of them that are legit insane and convinced that the actors' wives and children are part of some kind of beard conspiracy to obscure their gay love affair, but it is a very loud portion and the J2 fandom is so large that even a small fraction is still a lot.

I'd also go with J2 and Destiel. Again, it's the subset that's the problem, but whoa, they take it to the nth degree.

The best thing about them is whenever an actor or other celebrity who is actually gay, is much more famous than the Js, and has never married a woman comes out. They have a tiny thread about how great it is, then they go right back to their mile-long threads about the CW's apparently all-powerful PR department and the vast beard conspiracy and how the guys just can't come out ever but are so, so in love. Or they're just too evil and Texan-stereotype to come out, but we must spend every waking hour talking about them. It's like cognitive dissonance as performance art.

Wait, how are Spock/Uhura shippers bad? I've seen a bit of a war between Spock/Uhura and Spock/Kirk shippers with both sides being equally bad but really not all that bad at all compared to ships like Wincesters or Dean/Castiel shippers or Spike/Buffy vs. Angel/Buffy or Zutarans or any Harry Potter shipper at all.

Megatron/Starscream shippers.

Spike/Rarity annoys me most, but I think Joker/Harley attracts creepier people. I've heard Syndrome/Violet was pretty awful back in the day.

Razaya shippers in the GLTAS fandom, but I might be biased, since they were a really cliquish group (and I've heard similar sentiments shared by people I knew back then, so it's not entirely me blowing biased smoke out of my ass), so yeah.

Pretty much any shipper group during Mass Effect's heyday. They all had their own varying levels of worse-ness, but it's one of those things where it depended on where you stood, ship-wise (like, a former friend of mine -who was a huge F!Shep/Liara shipper- was always salty about Feron/Liara every time it came up. I can only presume Javik/Liara delivered pure sodium). I bailed shortly before ME3 came out, so I don't know what things were like after that.

And for fandoms I wasn't involved in but caught backdraft, some Johnlock shippers from a really ugly wank (TW for rape, pedophilia) earlier this year. That made my skin crawl reading it... and made me miss the days of silly-ish wank like CrystalWank or Snapewives. :/

Harmonians used to be the reigning champions, but they seem to have calmed down a bit as of late. Remus/Sirius shippers took 2nd place.

Nowadays I'm gonna say either Destiel or Swan Queen shippers.

Olicity shippers.

Onceler shippers, since they just had to have something to ship him with and settled on godawful OCs. Yes, creating an 'AU' version is an OC.

Both Erwin/Levi and Eren/Levi shippers from Attack on Titan.

Naruto shippers. Just go to the one of their major character tumblr tags and you'll see what a trainwreck this fandom is. You'll lose faith in humanity within 10 seconds.

This completely hopeless spones & mckirk fan thinks that you guys, OP, have no room calling other shippers the worst and craziest when a lot of you completely lost your sanity in 2009 and still constantly antagonize the S/U and Uhura fans with petty bashing and shipper wars. Never saw so much vitriol directed at a female character for getting in the way of a ship.
You have no room calling other shipper defensive either because last time I checked no one can say something against your ship without incurring in your wrath.
