I initially made the comparison because they seemed to give off the same feeling. I've thought about it some more: they use similar words, speak in similar clipped sentences without a lot of punctuation, and have a similar air of "I'm a man and I almost graduated college, so I clearly know more than women like you." A typical example:

Joe created a functioning society in the wasteland by building infrastructure and carefully rationing the limited resources he had. Furiosa and Max killed everyone responsible for that society and immediately put an end to the rationing that kept it surviving. It wasn’t shown on screen, but everyone in the three towns Joe built will be dead within a year, and all in the name of fairness and equality, despite the fact that neither exist in a society where the basics of human life are scarce and there aren’t enough to go around.

Even if the poor in Joe’s society were barely getting by, they were free to leave at any time and stuck around because they were still far better off there than they would have been in the wasteland.

But that could technically be true? That is the whole point of discussing and going over stuff like that. It's FUN to think about all the what-ifs.

No, it couldn't technically be true, it's a willful misinterpretation of the events designed to prop up the violent slaver warlord as a hero because that's what sick fucks want to see. Have FUN thinking about it, but also have FUN being both factually and morally wrong.

You are taking things way too seriously. It's just a movie.

They seem to not know he didn't build the structure but took it and hence he doesn't deserve credit for that.

I see we're running around in some of the same circles OP!

I wrote a really long reply to Rico/Bapho and then my stupid iphone did that restart thing and I couldn't be fucked to waste another 10 minutes telling him how very very wrong he was about the movie.

Particularly amazed at how the dude honestly doesn't seem to understand what slavery is.

My jaw literally drops at the notion that a murderer and rapist is somehow anything but the shittiest of all alternatives to creating a functioning society in a wasteland.

The Vuvalini show that it is definitely possible.
