=looks at the .gif= OK, how in the world is this show NOT considered to be a festival of gaybaiting by anyone who watches it?

(Anonymous) 2015-07-04 01:16 am (UTC)(link)
I would guess the showrunner being a gay man has something to do with it. Straight dude showrunners get all "no homo" when people ask them about queerbaiting, while Bryan Fuller is usually in "sure, what not?" mode.

Well for starts it's so fucked up that you wouldn't really want them to ~date~. It is intentionally homoerotic, but no one is really being strung along with the expectation of Hannibal and Will bumping uglies.

Because it's straight-up gay subtext (actually at this point it's just text). Not queerbaiting. Very very different from queerbaiting. And I wish fandom would stop using terms they don't understand to throw hissy fits about shipping.

Nope, if they're still afraid to go anywhere but there, it's queerbaiting. I don't care if Harvey Firestein himself is the showrunner.

Pardon me, I meant if they're still afraid to go there, not anywhere but there.
