I watched that for the first time ever recently, and I loved the creepy, fucked up Jareth/Sarah vibes. It also put me on a David Bowie kick. My mother currently hates me because of it.

I think I'd rather see it reimagined than given a sequel though. Not a remake exactly, those never go over well with people, more a general "how would the movie change if X was different?" type thing.

For a reimaging, would you recast Jareth? If so, who would you get to play him?

Oh god no. Keep Bowie, put him back in spandex breeches. Maybe cast someone as Sarah who isn't actually a sixteen year old girl, get rid of that part of the creep factor, but keep the rest of it.

I have no idea what would be a good difference honestly. I'm not good at that part, just the part where I sat and wondered how anyone survived the 80s with that much hairspray involved.
