Well, not sure if I completely agree about fandom drama being entertaining (It can be if it isn't the cruel, unpleasant kind, but it often is that kind), but since most of my participation in fandom boils down to reading fanfic, reblogging gifs and talking about the media with other people...the bigger the fandom the better. Sure there can be lots of wank, but for me it's usually easily avoided. Again, with bigger fandoms there's going to be more fic, and while not all of that fic might be good fic, I prefer having more options.

Plus, yea, it really sucks when you have the urge to talk about something but no one even knows what it is. (Or if they do, don't care about it.)
