I can't read those Character/Reader fics either. And some fandoms are really into them.

There's a minor character I really like who suffers badly from the reader insert plague. I swear, a third of the fics about him are reader insert crap (or shipping him with a canon character whose personality has been warped to the point where they're basically a stand-in for the reader).

That one bugs me too, but I've read enough good fics with that tag that I'm willing to let it slide.

Yeah, should have elaborated that I love Yuletide, so my reaction to that tag is more raising an eyebrow than avoiding a fic based on only that tag and nothing else.
