Re: Rant thread
Re: Rant thread
(Anonymous) 2015-07-11 01:44 am (UTC)(link)There's a book I want to read. It relates to several of my interests at once. It is on Amazon.
"two used copies starting at $250"
Re: Rant thread
The shirt I want is ony $25, but I'm down to $300 to get me through August unless I get approved for another loan request. So anything non-essential is out.
Re: Rant thread
(Anonymous) 2015-07-11 02:06 am (UTC)(link)I can usually make a case for why I seriously NEEEEEED a nonfiction book, and promise myself I'll make up the cost by austerities elsewhere. On the other hand, I really want the Random House reproduction of the Lakeside Moby-Dick with Rockwell Kent's illustrations, but it runs around $300 for a copy in good condition. No justifying that. As for the actual Lakeside edition...forget about it, that's more like $3000-4000.
