I really hate the way that once Fourth of July arrives, all I can think of is how little is left of the summer.

Hell, I don't think the summer's really started until the 4th of July.

(This is probably in large part because the place I live tends to be rather cold and grey in June, and tends to be at its warmest in September and early October).

It's a consequence of being a university student with classes starting the last week of August...but also of persistently seeing the glass as half empty, I suppose.
