Not really. I mean, it makes me upset that such a large percentage of media is male focused, but there are a lot of male focused shows/movies that I really enjoy so I don't think male focused media is inherently a bad thing. I just wish there was more of a balance

Only if it deemphasizes the experiences of women. The traditional example is that a female character gets raped and it focuses entirely on how her boyfriend feels about it (though I've never actually seen anything that blatant.)

Angry no because that requires too much energy, but tired, a bit sad, and bitter yes. Same thing with white oriented media, in fact.

If so, no. I enjoy plenty of things starring male characters, but I won't say it wouldn't be nice to see more stuff focused on female protagonists. There's so few in comparison.

I think it would be ok if male media was exclusively male so we can avoid the horrendous treatment of women, and we had a women focused media exclusively for us.

A bit of a pipe dream, really.

I don't like how violent and degrading it is. It doesn't make me ~rage~ or whatever, but it does make me sad.

We could have media that uplifts and supports and creates, but all we have is the glorification of destruction.

No, just frustrated because of how creatively dull these men are. Its the same with games actually, look at how creatively and morally bankrupt the male run 'Triple A' industry is, compared to the unrivalled beauty and positivity coming from the women in the indy market.

Usually yes but I'm not sure if the MCU is an exception. I don't really feel like it's made for guys any more. Sure it has tons of unnecessary masculinity in it, but I get the definite sense that the films are being made for women right now.

No. The fact that it makes up a vast majority of media makes me angry, but individual media things don't.

Nah, just the prevalence of it. There's nothing wrong with it in and of itself, but when it's all - or at least the overwhelming majority - of what there is to choose from in some media it's frustrating, at least.

It shatters my suspension of disbelief into tiny little pieces when a game has otherwise done such a good job of making me think I'm the character, or at least that I get to choose what the character does, then makes that character do something only a straight male would do... ...BECAUSE THAT'S WHAT YOU ARE, RIGHT? THAT'S ALL ANYBODY IS, EH????

A little, yeah.

It's demeaning to me. It claims the only things I can care about are boobs, beer, cars, and guns. Maybe things corollary to that like explosions and tanks.

Also, if I care about anything else I'm "not a real man". I have a real problem with toxic/performative masculinity and it is the number one reason I consider myself a feminist... so things like The Man Show, or whatever else tend to really piss me off. Doubly so if it's just an excuse to exploit women.

How do you mean? I like media with men in it, I'd prefer that media to have more women, but that isn't a cause for anger. Even if I want the future to be better, can't change how everything works over night.

But if you are talking about the fact that sometimes I as a woman are forgotten, then yes it makes me angry. It makes me angry when females are ignored completely, when my contribution would amount to less than a mens' o forgotten about...

But again, it depends on the context, I spend my weekends watching men driver cars very fast, and in all the series I watch I know of 2 female drivers who drive races, two test drivers, one mechanic and two team principals which is not something I find especially pleasing. But not angry, I want change tho, but change will happen in the future, not today or tomorrow.

Maybe not quite angry, but it does get annoying sometimes when they stop things dead to shove in some boobs. It's like having somebody next to you elbowing you in the ribs, going, "This is the good stuff, huh? This is what you're into right? Yeeaaaah!" while it drags on and you're waiting for things to get interesting again.

It's pandering, like pantyshots in anime. Just dull and embarrassing.

No. I'm interested in media for the story and the personalities of the characters. Their gender or race is irrelevant to me as long as they're written well and I can understand their motivations.
