It's always a surprise for me to see ppl who dislike him
I thought his part and role was the super hardest for any actor because Nimoy is the most iconic and Zachary surprised me! He's the best for me.
He is enough reminescent of tos Spock but at the same time he adds and makes the character his own which, I read, was one of the goals for the reboot.

To me the worst is Simon Pegg as Scotty. It's distractingly different (in the sequel he didn't even bother getting rid of the red dye) He got the part like Benedict was cast as Khan: they wanted the actor in the project and didn't care about chosing the right actor for the specific role.
