I joined in '01, around when the finale was aired. I was just too young to appreciate when the show started (I think I was like, 7). Which I guess makes me...a second-wave fan, or something.

I'm kinda surprised that new fans are getting into the show so late in the game, what with there being no episodes for over six years now...I'm even more surprised that there's XF fanwank still around, too!

Nothing wrong with being a second-wave fan! That's what will keep the show going! XD

X-Files fandom had some epic wank back in the day. The stuff of legend. ;) I feel like a bad person for saying this, but I'm kinda hoping that'll be revived with the release of the new movie, because dayum, that was entertaining. XD I keep hoping that someday, someone will write a history of X-Files fanwank, because there's SO much of it, and I'm sure I'm forgetting some of the best stuff. :P

Some Havenites (from the message board "Haven for the FBI's Most Unwanted") sort of gained a reputation as being very... shall we say... gung ho? There was a whole lot of Crazy that came out of that board. (Some of their particular brand of Crazy was brought up in this (http://www.journalfen.net/community/fandom_wank/1126384.html) recent Fandom_Wank post)

I, for one, would greatly appreciate a history of XF fanwank. I managed to either miss or avoid most of it.

As for that link...wow, never knew XF fandom was such srs bzns!
