Allow me to join the fun.

14) You're a troll. Or I hope you are because I can't believe there's anyone shallow enough to make a secret like this.

In case you're serious:

Please remember that anime is a cartoon style, and a cartoon style exaggerates details. If they looks like that in real life, they'd be considered freaks. So never, EVER compare a picture of an anime person to a real person. EVER.

The reason why they look so old and fat:
-They're human. Healthy humans don't have a flat belly. In fact, the person in that painting doesn't even LOOK fat. Also depending on the time frame the art was made, fat may have been seen as beautiful.
-Maybe because painting people under the age of 18 is considered pornography? Also again, the person in that painting doesn't even look that old.

Art isn't just about how "pwetty and kawaii" it is. There are reasons why you're studying these paintings; they're well known and famous and being STUDIED because there's a meaning to it. There's more to a painting than "oh its a person half naked in some dried up lake. Whoo hoo."

Now I'm not saying anime isn't art either...dammit its NOT art. ITS A JAPANESE CARTOON. Style-wise, it depends on who's. There's MANY MANY different styles of anime. It doesn't have to follow the rule of "huge eyes, no nose, small closed mouth, no detail except in hair," as long as its a cartoon style from Japan.

Referring to the anime picture you picked. Granted, the coloring is beautiful, and the details are wonderful. Is it a piece of art? Not really. Looks more like a promotional image to me. :| To me, all I see is "pretty." But I can't recognize it as a piece of art, since all I see is "pretty." Its just a group picture of some girls looking cute. Whoope-dee-doo. If there's an actual meaning in it but you cropped the picture to show us the pretty, you have failed to show me the art in this.

In the painting you picked, I'd call it art. Its not just "pretty," its beautiful, and it makes me think. There's emotion in this picture. Right now, I can't say much since I can't see a lot of the picture. I really hope you saw more than "old and fat."

Therefore, never compare a cartoon to a piece of art. It'd be like comparing "Powerpuff Girls" to the Mona Lisa. IT. DOESN'T. WORK.

So. Please just be a troll.

What the hell? This isn't a comment, its a freakin' essay. This secret made me mad. >:|

Apology to other people who're looking at the size of this wank and thinking "man, what a dumbass." I've been upset and this was a pretty good way to vent. :D

That's okay. Venting is the only thing trolls like 14. are good for ;)

Not saying I agree with the secret, but... Now you're arguing that art has to have meaning before it gets labelled as art?

...May I introduce you to Duchamp?
