However, always try to work from photographs/life instead of other people's fanart!

Unfortunately, you're gonna need to accept the fact that artists are a wanky lot, no matter what.

The key is to ignore them and do what you like!

There are lots of places to get pose references besides other art in the genre. (here's a good one! (http://www.posemaniacs.com/blog/)) As long as you're not copying someone's color scheme, style, pose, character and so on wholesale, then you're fine. There's so much more to a drawing than the pose.

4. "Plagiarizing douche" is worse. There are plenty of "sucky artists" but a lot of people believe copiers are a step down because they're using other pictures to make them seem better than they are. Not to say you do that.

Poses are hard (I'm terrible with it too) but... you should really learn to do it yourself. References can easily become crutches. It's okay to use photo references and get inspiration and other things, I think, but don't do it often enough to become dependent on it. You don't get better if you only copy.

4. Practise with observed anatomy, then later on you will make your own anatomy and poses more easily. It's not rocket science.

14.) ...I honestly don't know what to say. I personally don't like Joan Mirot and Jackson Pollock's paintings, but I'd never not call them art. Different strokes for different folks, hon.
I'd also have to say the reason they look "old and fat" is because they're realistic, for the most part. Not everyone has perfect bodies and faces.
It takes a hell of a lot of work to learn how to draw a likeness, much less paint an entire oil painting with proper shading and clothing folds. Anime style's a nice style, but it's not the only one in the world.

Please, grow up a little and learn some respect.
