If you rolled up Mai and played her convincingly, I'd have to find a way to kill people in my own faction because I can't STAND her! Not becuase she's the canon argument against Zukaang (I actually thought herXZuko was kinda cute) but just becuase she's got about as much personality as a 2"x4". Plz to be having some emotions, k?

You're learning, and like everyone else, you study from what you see. All artists do it, whether through other art, or in real life. BELIEVE IT.

I'm not here to say that anime isn't art, because people are allowed to express themselves through whatever style they see fit. So, with that in mind... shut up, please? :>

The art world is filled with so much beautiful and unique art - they all show the views of other cultures - and that is what your teacher is trying to show you. Your teacher wants you to learn the history of art, because learning it will teach you not only the process of art, but other things, like, when did people start censoring art? Or, how art work progressed through the ages, from drawings on a cave wall, to beautiful churches with murals on their ceilings, and so on and so forth.

By the way, dearie, if you think she's ugly and old, you need to get out of your house and stop pretending that everyone is pretty, cute, and skinny. Because they aren't.

4. Man, you do what you gotta do to draw the art you like. Are you honestly trying to improve? Do you one day want to go beyond tracing poses and make your own stuff? Then go at this until you learn. 4. Do what I do and use a combination of other people's art and photos. For every picture you draw. So don't look at someone's drawing and draw the whole thing in your own style, change it around by looking at other drawings for different parts, or photos, or what have you. Use the drawings as hints as to where to draw the lines. I doubt you're coming up with carbon copies of other people's fanart, but there's a few more things you can do.
