1) Those things scare the beejezus out of me.

4) The drama is normally with either tracing or not crediting. If you copy a pose, link to the original. And learn to deviate. Some people provide stock photographs for the sole purpose of letting people copy the poses, or to see how a real human body looks in certain positions. SenshiStock on DeviantArt is a great source. It's fine to use other art for inspirations or to try new clothes or poses. But always credit. The more you draw, the better you'll become. When I first started drawing, I copied Takeuchi Naoko extensively. Then, I slowly developed my own style. The less you use references, the better your art will become. If you can't get something just right, ask one of your friends to pose for you, or use a digital camera on yourself. Then you know it's your own work.

Some of us believe Light's methods are "fucked up" because we believe all humans are flawed and recognized that Light's flaws were only magnified exponentially by the power of the Death Note, twisting him into something worse than the evil he originally wanted to fight. Light harms the good people in Death Note, as well as the evil. As someone else asked, why did Ray, Naomi, Whammy, L and the police officers need to die? What was their crime?

1. WEEPING ANGELS HARDCORE!!!
Aw man, my roommate scared me spitless by softly scratching at my door right during one of the more intense scenes.
At least it wasn't a two-parter. I still remember watching "The Empty Child" and then it ended right there and the second half was a week away...and it was all dark and I was all alone in my room... Not a fun night!

4. Here's the deal: Copy poses to start, but do not put your pose-copied pictures on the internet.
I'm just gonna come out and say, I started drawing "for serious" by tracing, then copying, then just referencing J. Axer's work (long, long time ago, in an art-style far, far away). But it was loooong before I had a scanner or anything, so I was drawing for myself. As soon as I got comfortable, I was drawing my own pictures, and those I showed people.
Secret 2-- Even when you get good, it's okay to use reference. You just need to learn the difference between referencing and ripping.
Go to some life-drawing sessions if you can. Get friends to model and pose for you if you can't. Get a photobook and draw from that (but remember, what looks good on a photo doesn't always look good when drawn). Getting better at drawing is 100% about practice, and 90% of what you draw to practice is crap that will never be seen by another person.

6. So much agreement. As far as I can see, Gunter is pretty much in love with Yuuri (or, at the very least, unhealthily obsessed with him).

31. I believe quite strongly that your feelings are very, very irrational. My main reason for disliking Light's methods? He could have been wrong. How many innocent people did he kill in the process of getting the really evil ones? How many children lost their fathers and mothers? How parents lost a son or a daughter? And the fact that he killed anybody the moment he suspected them of being close to his identity...made me sick, actually. At first he had good intentions (even if his methods were deplorable), but by the end it wasn't about helping the world. It was about becoming a god.

And anyway, death is only a deterrent for criminals who are sane. Crimes of passion would still happen. Drug-related homicides would still happen. And genocides? I'm willing to bet that Kira did fuck-all about the shit happening in the third world. After all, he probably never saw it on the news.

4. You know, I predict I'll get jumped all over for this, but COPY POSES. Guess what? That's what you do in art. You learn from other artists! I mean obviously there's going to be some CREDIT involved, but if you want to learn well, then you'll wind up doing some copying to get you started. It's how painters learn to paint -- they copy the masters. It's how people learn the human figure. They use references. So honestly, don't be ashamed. I'm a sucky artist -- I'll admit that, but most of the better things I've done? Poses copied from photographs and the like.
