There is no hate for PW, just annoyance at the fans who look at people who play Warcraft, or the game itself, and go "loladdict". Cuz their game isn't addictive, to the right person? (and I know people addicted to PW.)

Well, the thing is that PW has an ending. There's only so many times you can play the same game before you run out of steam. WoW, being an MMORPG, basically doesn't end. The entire point of an MMORPG is not to offer an interesting or innovative gaming experience - it's about repetitive, grinding gameplay that rewards you with a false sense of achievement for your next level gain/some fancy new piece of equipment. The only thing it's useful for is the community - and honestly, there are plenty of other online activities that provide a more intelligent and overall better community (hello livejournal!)

I also question your use of the word 'addict'.

Honestly, I think the entire MMORPG genre should die in a fire, but my opinion is peppered with the bitterness of an ex-Ragnarok Online fiend, so it should probably be taken with a grain of salt. :/

Ah, I see. I guess that makes sense, though I'm pretty sure there are people who say things like that about MMORPGS from every fandom. And yes, there most certainly are people addicted to PW! Actually, I've known someone who was addicted to PW and WOW at the same time...poor guy barely got through his sophmore year of college...
