25. I didn't say he didn't treat her horribly too, I just said I thought he was fairly justified for killing her right then.
I find it easier to sympathize with him because his actions were often out of rage (and just plain not understanding how to freaking interact with human beings. Aww, he's like a psychotic teenager trying to ge a prom date!), while she used his hope and feelings against him. She knew that he loved her, especially by that point, when for the past several episodes, he'd been taking increasing steps towards actually being a decent person. She knew he more or less hung his hope of ever being a good person on her loving him. And she pretended to love him. Everything she ever told him was a lie. He lied to her about the what were essencialyl state-secrets. He never lied about his feelings, and more often than not, bared his soul to her.

He's not a good person by any stretch. I just think that after all that falling apart, he finally snapped. You can see the moment his heart breaks.

Oh yes, locking her up in a cellar and refusing her offer to help the king, that's being a good person. :/
A couple of episodes where he's a decent human being don't really excuse two seasons of him being an ass.

I agree that he snapped and she broke his heart, I just think it was a long time in coming and that he sort of deserved it.
