(Anonymous) 2015-07-14 12:59 am (UTC)(link)Marry Me: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XFdbZHMBxfg "Little girl likes little boy. Little boy likes BMX bike. Something has to give. "
Mankind is No Island: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZrDxe9gK8Gk "'Mankind is no island' is a film shot entirely on a cell phone, using found signage on the streets of NY and Sydney to tell a touching story from the very heart of two cities."
FiXeD: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-irhMxsh97U "Jemimah wants Tilly to have puppies. At any cost."
There's also one (not Tropfest) I used to love that YouTube ruined because of copyright violations - maybe someone can find it? I can't. It was called "Car Dance" and about a couple that met while listening to music in their respective cars. Super cute, but YouTube silenced the music.

(Anonymous) 2015-07-14 03:17 am (UTC)(link)I remember that, and I remember liking most of those too! (Cool story bro, I know, but it was so weird you mentioned it and my reaction was an immediate "Yes, I know and like that thing too!")

P.S. Does anyone else remember a short animated film about someone living in a partially flooded house after the apocalypse, moving higher and higher up as the water gradually rises? I saw it when I was rooming with an animation student back in 2010.

(Anonymous) 2015-07-14 04:10 am (UTC)(link)Live-action. In French with subs. A man doesn't talk much. Twee, I know. But I liked it and that's that.
Silo (12min): https://vimeo.com/97765630
Live-action. Guarding a nuclear missile isn't fun.
The Maker (5min): http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YDXOioU_OKM
Animation. Rabbit violin creature wants to reproduce (accurate but badly-worded description).
Record/Play (11min): https://vimeo.com/75869689
Live-action. Drama about time-travel via audio cassette.
The Making of Longbird (15min): https://vimeo.com/24052185
Live-action/animation. A "classic animated character" is to be remade.
The Applicant (4min): http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sQLTPFHAxLg
Live-action. Just a job interview.
