If they hate it, why are they tracking when new issues come out?

Maybe OP's friend is one of those people who just have to have something to be angry about, I guess...?

This. Some people wouldn't know what to do with themselves if they had nothing to piss and moan about, so they have to go looking for something.

I was wondering the same.

I barely know when issues of comics I like come out so OPs friend is ??????

So, someone is unhappy with the current run of Transformers comics? Personally I'm loving them. It is such a brilliant allegory for current politics, Starscream can be a good leader, but only if you ride his ass with strong and principled opposition to keep him on the straight and narrow. Better than most civics classes can manage.

The character has something to do with yellow and uh, bugs?
Is...it Wasp?

(Anonymous) 2015-07-15 11:02 pm (UTC)(link)
I'm guessing it's Transformers (Bumblebee transforms into a yellow volkswagen)

Seems almost 100% likely that it's Transformers. (Though 'transformed' is a better description. The only currently active Bumblebee in any of the fiction turns into a fictional musclecar...the one in the other active fictional universe is dead (though he did, at one point, turn into a Beetle).)

I hear you on the salt for new comics thing, but it's not passive aggressive at all to miss a favorite character and write about why you think their lacking makes things not as good.

That's like the exact opposite of what passive aggressive is.

(Anonymous) 2015-07-15 11:35 pm (UTC)(link)
Maybe if they're wording it like "New Comic would be so much better with a character who's this, this, and that! HMMM I WONDER WHO THAT DESCRIBES??" or something like that, which is something I actually see a lot from my friends who are bitter former comic book fans. I guess that's still not really passive aggression, but it could be mistaken for it.

I think there's a good case for it being passive-aggressive if the person could solve their problem by just moving on from the fandom, but instead they hang around and incessantly complain about it.

It's kind of like when you ask your date which restaurant they want to go to, and they reply "Oh, whatever you want, I'm not picky." So you suggest a place, and they start going on about how they were disappointed the last time you went--the food was too salty, or not spicy enough, or the service was slow, or the server did something annoying, and blah blah blah. So you say "OK, we'll go somewhere else, how about..."--"Whatever you want!" And you go, and they complain all through the meal about how the food and the service are sub-par, until it's impossible for you to enjoy yourself, and then they add that they never really wanted to go there, "and we always go to the places you want to go."

Once Upon A Time?
I know there are comics for the show; I'm not sure if any new ones have been released lately, though.

Continuing to assume this is Transformers...

I get you, man...people who hate the comics seem to talk about them every bit as much as the ones who love them.

Though I'd actually love someone upset at Bee's loss at this point. The whining about Prowl's merrily traipsing down his road to Hell, and Megatron getting a chance at redemption (not to mention the 'ick, girls!' crap) are grating.

Ha I do this on a gaming forum. Those bastards broke my heart. I refuse to reblog them on twitter. So very petty.

The Herbie the Love Bug fandom has really gotten toxic...
