Re: Hurt/comfort: Can one exist without the other?

Going to echo a comment above and say that I like hurt with minimal comfort. Meaning not that I don't want comfort, but that I don't want to dwell on the comfort and healing. It's enough for me to have an abbreviated epilogue where the hurt character is put back together, or even for it mostly to take place off screen.

Basically, I don't want to dwell on endless discussions of fevers and changing bandages, and feeding of soup, etc. etc. I feel like that's a different subset of hurt/comfort, and I prefer the whumpage, with the attendant sympathy and/or rescue, but without an extended convalescence.
