I feel like your comments are always a bit condescending and unnecessary. :/ Like, I'm pretty sure OP doesn't actually think everyone here works at fast food places, they were being facetious.

Also lots of workers in the fast food industry are adults.

Specifically, adults who are working for meth money.

Now that isn't true. Some of them are just doing it for weed money.

or old adults who don't make enough money from social security to do dick, or adults who can't speak English....

Adults 25-30+ who are working at McDonalds for a living wage (living in quotation marks because ...you know, corporate evil) usually don't have the internet. They're usually so far below the poverty line they're working 2-3 jobs just to make rent.

So yeah, I'm going to bet everyone here on fandom secrets who can afford to show up and dick around is way too old to be working at McDicks.

You have a weird perception of poor people. We do have internet sometimes, trust me. And sometimes we even dick around too!

What about adults who are students too? And managers? Do you actually think every McDonald's you go into there are no adults? Especially with the job market being as shitty as it is right now.

The manager was 18 in the last place I went into. The owner was around 45 but he sure didn't work there if he didn't have to.

So yeah, my impressions of fast food workers (in North America) are generally from VICE documentaries and such. And news stories about immigrant labour markets and similar service industry jobs.

Adults who are students (in my considerably larger experience) are usually not fast food workers.

I have a friend who's 26 and he works at Burger King and takes some college classes. He is far from rich, but he can afford internet and is a pretty normal guy?

Now sure, I could go out and do my own research, and that would likely be infinitely better than relying on opinion pieces and documentaries... but that's time that I could be wasting arguing on the internet.

I mean. =My perspective is the American rural south; I'm sure it differs elsewhere but I've lived below the poverty level for most of my life (I'm 29) and I've had internet service in my home since I was 13. Most of my friends are retail or food service wage slaves and they have internet access (granted, they also typically have 3+ roomies and live in crappy apartments/trailer parks but you know).

That's totally fair. According to what I've read it tends to be that wage slavery has tiers that usually start with fast food and trend up to things like waiting tables and line cooking.

Usually if someone is working an entry level fast food career (ie. McD's) and they're over 25 they tend to be immigrants.

I guess that also might depend on your geographical region, of course, but like... I'm not specifically saying poor people can't internet or adults can't hold fast food job I'm saying there's generally a circumstance wherein the two intersect that produces a specific outcome.

I feel like you're probably not reading every single comment I've ever made.
