On a tangential note, Louis Gossett Jr. was originally considered for the Lecter role in Silence of the Lambs. What sort of flap do you think THAT would have created?

"dindu nuffin" is a specific phrase racists use to make fun of murdered black people. I suppose it ALMOST counts as an attempt at AAVE, but mainly it's just a cut-and-paste thing.

Minus the cannibalism, that's Tobias Bulge. Too bad they didn't keep that character around longer. The first other cultured, intelligent villain on the show AND one gets to do an action scene with the eponymous character? Alas...
