(Anonymous) 2015-07-19 04:13 am (UTC)(link)These are my thoughts as well. Although black people (and other minorities) still don't get enough representation in comics, there are actually still quite a few black superheroes out there, and I would much rather see them represented on tv or in film than for someone to randomly change Peter Parker or whoever into a black guy. To be honest, that just seems like a really lazy and cheap way to create representation. I mean, sure, there are a lot of black superheroes out there who have rich backstories and are a source of inspiration to other black people both in-universe and out, but why take a chance on them when we can turn a white superhero black and call it a day? Eh, no thank you. I mean, I don't get upset when it happens, but I'm also not really impressed by it.
