I can only truly speak for myself but a lot of black people have felt uncomfortable with black actors being cast in white roles in these movies. Do we want to see more black characters on screen? HELL YES. But we want to see characters that were already black

These are my thoughts as well. Although black people (and other minorities) still don't get enough representation in comics, there are actually still quite a few black superheroes out there, and I would much rather see them represented on tv or in film than for someone to randomly change Peter Parker or whoever into a black guy. To be honest, that just seems like a really lazy and cheap way to create representation. I mean, sure, there are a lot of black superheroes out there who have rich backstories and are a source of inspiration to other black people both in-universe and out, but why take a chance on them when we can turn a white superhero black and call it a day? Eh, no thank you. I mean, I don't get upset when it happens, but I'm also not really impressed by it.
