I don't get it when people think Ten wasn't. I found him so even more than Nine.

As for which pairing is better, I love both. Both are brilliant, endearing, sexy. But the Ten/Rose dynamic was PERFECT. The Doctor and Rose made each other better; a process that started with Nine and continued with Ten. I haaaate nothing more than the argument that they were bad people together and deserved their separation.

I don't think they necessarily deserved the separation, but the two of them together was unhealthy, co-dependent and reinforced each others' bad traits. I like them, don't get me wrong, but I can't agree with the sentiment of them being perfect when they so profoundly weren't. And I'm not sure that Ten was in love with her as much as he was in love with the idea of being in love with her, but it's all subjective observations.

I'm not going to deny that Ten was in love with her. But I thought they made each other worse. Much worse. Tooth and Claw is the perfect example.

Because they were excited about a werewolf? Because they dared find humor in a terrible situation? Yes, burn them with fire, obviously. :/

Hey, if you like the childish giggling giddiness, more power to you. I could only cringe in embarrassment for them.

(Anonymous) 2015-07-19 04:54 pm (UTC)(link)
And you forgot openly laughing at and mocking the queen.

(Anonymous) 2015-07-19 06:05 pm (UTC)(link)
Because the Doctor never mocks authority figures. Must be all Rose's corruption of him.

(Anonymous) 2015-07-19 06:14 pm (UTC)(link)
Great job there implying I said something that I never ever said. RME.

(Anonymous) 2015-07-19 06:17 pm (UTC)(link)
If you're the anon that said they made each other worse and Tooth & Claw is an example AND the comment about openly mocking the Queen, you did say it. If just the first, you also said it.

They do make each other worse. They treated the whole situation like a great big game. But that's a far cry from saying "Rose corrupted the Doctor." That makes it sound like I'm blaming everything on Rose, which I assure you I am not.

(Anonymous) 2015-07-20 12:56 am (UTC)(link)
Thank you for clarifying. But if they make each other worse, it stands to reason that she makes him worse... doesn't it?

In any case, I obviously vehemently disagree. To the point that I can't even see where that idea comes from. At ALL. But I guess people's mileage varies.

(Anonymous) 2015-07-26 03:25 pm (UTC)(link)
It was more than that, though, they were laughing and making jokes loudly and obnoxiously almost directly after a man died saving their lives. Viciously eaten. That shows an astonishing lack of empathy. Which was kind of Rose's Thing that She Did.

There's a difference between gallows humour and cheerfully giggling in excitement in these situation. The former is coping, the latter is awful.

I've watched the episode a few times and still not seen the "worse", even a little bit of it. Idk.

(Anonymous) 2015-07-19 06:02 pm (UTC)(link)
Well each to their own. Their behavior in that episode made me cringe with second-hand embarrassment. And I cannot stand all the giddy giggling.
